Research Goals

  • Understand user needs and pain points: Identify specific design challenges and evaluate current brainstorming habits.

  • Assess user perception of AI: Gauge user comfort and expectations for AI integration in creative tools.

  • Analyze competitor strengths and weaknesses: Identify unique selling points for Thinkflow.

  • Evaluate app usability and UI: Conduct user testing to assess ease of use and functionality.

  • Define success metrics and experiment: Track user engagement, idea generation, and overall satisfaction.

Research Summary

In a study, it was discovered that individuals who were exposed to various types of stimuli, including pictures, words, and objects, produced more innovative ideas during a subsequent task compared to those who had access to a more restricted range of stimuli.
— Journal of Experimental Social Psychology

Participants in the study exposed to a wider range of stimuli exhibited greater creativity in a subsequent task compared to those with limited exposure.

This finding holds significant relevance for Thinkflow. By offering a diverse collection of prompts and inspiration sources, the app aims to act as a catalyst for users, potentially mirroring the study's findings. Thinkflow's approach provides users with various stimuli (potentially including images, keywords, or object descriptions) to spark creative thinking and potentially enhance the generation of innovative ideas throughout their brainstorming sessions.

Competitor Analysis

I delved into the competitive landscape by identifying Thinkflow's key rivals, analyzing their features, and strategically differentiating Thinkflow by highlighting its unique strengths.

Competitor Differentiation Summary

Thinkflow stands out from the competition by offering several unique functionalities:

  • Searchable prompts: This allows users to find specific prompts or inspiration tailored to their needs, unlike competitors like Brainsparker which only offer random prompts.

  • Scheduling and notification capabilities: This empowers users to plan and manage their brainstorming sessions, setting reminders and ensuring they stay on track. Neither Brainsparker nor Miro currently offer this functionality.

By combining these features, Thinkflow positions itself as a more comprehensive and user-friendly solution for design professionals seeking to enhance their creative brainstorming process.
